Itinerary
- Day 1: Amman
Welcome to Jordan! Upon arriving at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be greeted by our Meet & Assist representatives who will guide you through the immigration process and be transferred to your hotel in Amman.
- Day 2: Jerash - Ajlun
Following breakfast we start our tour in the old city of Amman. We begin at the Roman Theatre an iconic landmark in the city which once served as a venue for various performances, from gladiatorial contests to theatrical shows and the Citadel, a majestic hilltop complex that offers stunning views of the city. After our exploration of Amman, we set off to Jerash, also known as the ancient Gerasa. Jerash is a true gem and one of Jordan’s most cherished destinations, closely following Petra in popularity. This Graeco-Roman city boasts an incredible history of human habitation that spans over 6,500 years! Walk through four imposing gates, the “Street of Columns,” and see the tracks of ancient chariot wheels. Next, journey west to Saladin’s 12th-century Arab castle, Qala’at al Rabad otherwise known as Ajloun Castle, a masterpiece of military architecture before making our way back to your hotel for your overnight stay.
- Day 3: Madaba - Mount Nebo - Kerak
Our first destination for today is Madaba, famously known as the “City of Mosaics.” Here, we’ll visit the contemporary Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, featuring a vivid sixth-century Byzantine mosaic map displaying Jerusalem and other sacred sites.
Continue west to Mount Nebo, an immensely significant site where Moses is believed to have viewed the Promised Land. Explore the memorial and the ruins of a small, square church, later expanded into a grand complex by early Byzantine Christians.
Next, we proceed southward to Kerak, approximately 150 km from Amman, renowned for its impressive Crusader fortress. The fortress, dating back to 1142, showcases underground galleries, secret passageways, and defensive walls with narrow arrow slits, once bravely defended by Crusader archers. The fortress’s strategic location on the King’s Highway made it a vital capital controlling traffic from the north and south.
Proceed to Wadi Rum to your accommodation.
- Day 4: Wadi Rum - Aqaba
Embark on an unforgettable tour of Wadi Rum, otherwise known as the Valley of the Moon, where adventure and history blend seamlessly. Jump aboard a thrilling 2-hour 4×4 jeep tour, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, as you explore the majestic sandstone mountains and stunning red dunes. Immerse yourself in the enchanting Bedouin culture, witness breathtaking sunsets, and experience the magic of this otherworldly desert wilderness. We now head to Aqaba to your hotel for your overnight stay.
- Day 5: Petra
We will pick you up from Aqaba and transfer you to the magnificent ancient city of Petra. This wonder of the world was carved into the rose-red Sharah Mountains by the Nabateans and was lost to civilization until rediscovered by the Swiss explorer Burkhardt. The history of Petra dates back to around 11,000 BC when Stone Age man inhabited the region, followed by early farmers around 7000 BC. Enjoy a guided tour of its many sites. We will walk through the Siq, a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs, leading us to the iconic Treasury, the Roman Theater, the Courts, Qasr Bint Pharaoun, Temple of the Winged Lion, and other remarkable monuments.
Drive back to your Aqaba hotel for overnight stay.
